Late in the afternoon, Dexter Gordon, holding his tenor sax high emerged from the wings in a slow, edging manner blowing the blues all the while.  After a few more numbers, he was joined by an orange-haried, red-lipped kid who had come up from Philly for the day and brought his trumpet with him. This is Red Rodney at his best.
